Quarantine Clock

This is still an early sketch and may remain so. It was built more as a sanity preserver than anything else, in April 2020. It’s a clock that repeats the same second over and over. Along with the email clock, it’s an attempt to express “emotional time”, the feeling of how time moves subjectively rather than how it is measured objectively.

Watch the image closely for a few seconds.

Quarantine clock, a clock that ticks the same second over and over

The clock built on a mechanism I have been getting to know for a couple years, that allows both hands of a clock to move independently, the VID28-05. This same motor is apparently used by the design group Humans Since 1982 in their clock projects. This was a good project to give it a test. The code can be found in this repository.
